Hey everybody! Thanks for checking out this note, it means a lot.
This is a project I've been working on for a little while now and I`ve decided to release the song before the music video comes out.
The song was inspired by the earthquake in Haiti, and by the countless stories of resilience that I was hearing from people who went there to help (or who are still there). It might seem irrelevant to you now because it isn`t as present in the media as it initally was. But let us not forget that it has only gotten worse. They still need help and this project of mine is being put forth to ensure that the aide continues.
This is a project that is in collaboration with World Vision. I`ve been working with them for a little while now and I decided that I wanted to be part of the on-going relief efforts in Haiti. Once this song is up on itunes, ALL download-profits will be donated to World Vision`s fund for Haiti Relief.
Furthermore, I decided to get the youth invovled with the project. A youth group called "The Compassionate" from the Word Of Life church are the extra voices you hear on the song. I decided to shoot a music video with icanseemybreath (icanseemybreath photography) to promote the song but to also demonstrate the importance of people getting involved for a positive goal. We have a moral responsibility to help, in my opinion, because let`s face it, we have it good in Montreal.
Furthermore, I`ve decided to organize a show in collaboration with World Vision and Concordia to platform my vision for community moral responisibility. The show is taking place at the Oscar Peterson Hall on June 19th at 7PM. There will be more information available in a week.
The music video will be launched in week! But please feel free to check the song and spread the word!
