Wreck MMA releases its December 12 fight card in Quebec

    MMACANADA.NET

With less than three weeks to go until the biggest event in the region’s history, Wreck MMA has announced a couple changes to Wreck MMA: Fights for the Troops fight card scheduled for December 12th, 2009 at the Robert Guertin Arena in Gatineau.

One of the country’s top bantamweights and Ottawa’s own Remi ‘Bam Bam’ Morvan will now be facing a highly touted 135 pound prospect in undefeated Roland Delorme from Winnipeg. With nothing less than a win being acceptable, Morvan is looking to come back strong and hand Delorme the first loss of his career. Morvan hopes a win will allow him face the winner of the highly anticipated bout between Nick ‘The Ninja of Love’ Denis and Sean Quinn; who are both coming off impressive wins in Western Canada. The undefeated Delorme is a top student of Curtis Brigham and is looking to take the next step in becoming a top bantamweight in Canada. In the biggest fight of his career, Delorme is looking to upset the talented Morvan in his hometown.

Wreck MMA is also excited about one of Quebec’s top strikers joining their ranks as Yannick Galipeau steps in for the injured Alex Sung and takes on local star, Louis-Philippe Carle. Galipeau is an 8x North American Kyokushin Karate champion and brings to Wreck an excellent karate background that has now been famously made popular in MMA with UFC Champion Lyoto Machida. Carle comes in with a solid 5-1 record and is looking to take the next step up in facing the country's top welterweights.

Wreck MMA: Fights for the Troops is shaping up to be the most talent rich event in Gatineau/Ottawa MMA history. In addition to the fights listed above, the card also includes the main event of Fabio Holanda vs. Sean Pierson and the first Gracie to fight in Eastern Canada; Igor Gracie. If that isn’t enough, the much anticipated bout between two of the top fighters in Ottawa, Mark ‘Boots’ Holst and Nabil ‘The Thrill’ Khatib is destined to entertain the fans in attendance. Add in the first female MMA bout between two Ottawa residents, Josee Aupry and Anna Barone to the scheduled twelve MMA bouts and this card is stacked from top to bottom.
